Move Forward

Today on Ali Edwards blog she had this picture. I really like the message and I hope you do to.

Move forward

You don’t need a map or an itinerary for a personal journey, just a sense of adventure and maybe this reminder: That breathless, soul-quenching feeling of awe you get when you catch a watercolor sunset never comes during a commercial break. To grow, you have to get outside and go. Whether you want to walk farther, pedal harder or simply drink in the scenery more appreciatively Cross every bridge and a brave and open heart.

Catch-up on Items

It  has been a long time since I wrote any articles. Pierre is fun to have around and is a sweet, quite until he wants to play which is most of the time. He is a good car rider, very quite, but I had forgotten how much work it is to train a puppy. I am worn out trying to keep everything out of his reach. Here are a few things that have happened in my life since last article.

  • I had the walnut trees cut down on the farm and have been trying to get the clean-up man to follow through with what he was to do.
  • Waiting for the bull-dozier guy to come and take out out all cross fence lines and put all tree and stumps in a piles so they can be burned.
  • I have been working on the farm to clean the place up, yes another decluttering item. Making a small dent.
  • Pierre training not going to well, I take him out and 5-min. later he does it inside. OH!
  • I have been doing some sewing and working on some projects.
  • I have been going to a lot of free classes on healthy living.
  • I kinda have been not interested in doing anything on the Internet.
  • I love doing Yoga with Kim the teacher at Community Center, but not with Jaime. Her classes the rhyme just does not flow from one position to another.
  • I have been trying to read some books but have not gotten into them like I would like.
  • I have been working on the outside gardens and planting new plants in the retaining wall. It worked out so much better then the other design. I planted three setums called Montovia, it has burgundy stems and the flower. Should bring some color in the fall. the other plants are variegated lyrope (monkey grass) and weigelia and plane lyrope (monkey grass) the plane is planted along the outline of the wall, one to cover the concrete and the other is to accent the shape of the wall. The weigelia is called My Monet, it is varigated white and green leaves with medium pink flowers. It is low growing to 1 1/2 ft and will branch out to 45 inches which will be perfect since it is planted in front of the window.
  • A top made in the class, silk screened design and added neckline
  • I attended a class in Minneapolis, MN the end of March to learn about Surface Design from Katherine Tilton. Good class, I was so stimulated that I was absorbing so much info that I was depleted of energy for days. When I got back it took so days to recover. Minneapolis has a great Textile Center and has so many classes. I wish it was here, I would be taking classes there all the time.

  • While on my way to Minneapolis I visited a 98-old cousin and I was so glad that I did. She is always amazed at what I do. I guess I am her gypsy. She says, I am always on the go.
Cousin Opal
  • While in Minneapolis, I stayed with cousin Jan, we got reacquainted and we need to continue to stay in touch. We when to a Mad Hatter's Tea luncheon with one of her friends Tami. It has been so long to have someone to just go out and have lunch. One of the things I miss. We also, went to a small town in Minn. called Algora, quaint town and has some neat shops, nice knit shop, purchased a knitted top, antique and consignment shop, bead shop and of course the Tea shop which was located in the old city hall. It was a neat building with curved steps in marble at least two stories and old elevator that had the door that closed in front of it, and some other shops inside.
  • I trying to learn about the Jazz Fest that is going to be held in Minneapolis on June 25. I want to come and see how they do the school for the young students and also hear some of the Jazz artists. The MN Jazz radio station is really a great station, good interviews with the artists and very nice jazz. Station  88.5/6 FM.
  • All in all it was a nice trip. Minneapolis is a really great city, easy to get around and so much to do. They just have too much snow. They had more snow this week with sleet and ice. Too much for me, besides to very cold weather.
  • When I got back it was off to the farm to check to see what had been done. Not much, was disappointed in the clean-up man. He had not done anything. I have been there twice and it is the same except what I have done.
